Camellias are one of the most eye-catching shrubs you can plant in your garden. Blooming during the cooler months October through March, Camellias provide stunning beauty in part shade and shade areas. Most Camellias perform well in zones 7-10, but there are some that tolerate colder weather to zone 6. Delicate Sasanqua camellias bloom earliest, and can be stunning accents to the fall and early winter garden. Look for Yuletide at the holidays or Monrovia exclusive varieties like Pink-A-Boo® if you desire a unique statement plant. In winter and early spring, the Camellia japonicas emerge with frilly, multi-layered blooms that make beautiful cut flowers.
