Orange-red sheaths at each node add color to the green culms (stems) of this well-contained plant. A perfect specimen for smaller gardens and courtyards. Leaves do not curl in the sun as with some bamboos. Thrives in cooler summer regions, even tolerating mild, periodic dry spells when established. Evergreen.

WATER: Water when top 2 inches of soil is dry.
SIZE: Upright stems reach 8 ft. tall; clump only expands 2 to 4 in. per year.
