Adapted to wet places; provide plenty of moisture. Can be used at water's edge or submerged in a water garden in a pot. If submerging, slowly increase the water level over time to allow the roots to adapt. Prefers shade but can take full sun given adequate moisture. Can be overwintered inside where not hardy. Divide in spring if needed. If needed, cut back in spring to refresh growth.
